In a final installment where death and established lore mean nothing, it is hard to invest in the characters or find any stakes in the action. Clichés abound, new rules are written to solve plot problems and character obstacles, and other characters serve no purpose. While always visually stunning and fast-paced, ultimately it renders meaningless the trials of the original trilogy in a modern effort by Disney that, I feel, in time will be viewed as pure folly.
