Excellent concept but Badly written, badly directed, and badly executed (Ha! Pun intended). If you rate Doritos and Dr. pepper 10/10 as food and drink you will definitely love this movie. Maybe, (for those of you who love eating dog or cat food), this movie even deserves to be called a Christmas Masterpiece?
A bloody unsentimental look at how pure violence and inhumanity can bring even little children to the wonderful Christmas message that everyone in the world has a bloodthirsty barbarian in their core; Including Santa. The message here is that even Santa can rediscover his purpose in life by embracing their ability for death and destruction.
The Santa in 'Violent Night' has lost his way and, soaked in alcohol, puke and cynicism, he finds purpose in defending a little girl against robbers. Redemption for Santa's human condition has to do with him finding his bloody war hammer once again and killing and killing and killing.
The writers and director have no idea how to build and release tension so each scene has brutal dialog, brutal acting and brutal sets. Home Alone and Die Hard are Christmas classics because the characters were given space for their humanity. This movie blends both movies but fails to give any character any humanity nor Christmas spirit.
All the characters are killing machines splattering blood everywhere. Answer this question: Is smashing someones head in with a concrete baby Jesus great comedy or great action? A big finger to the production team for ruining what should be a great concept. Try again.
