The Fantastic Four: First Steps

While this movie does some good things like filling in the blanks from the Incredible Hulk to now, it simply has too many cliche moments for me. There are parts of the movie where they make it a survivable situation for Sam when he should obviously not stand a chance like when he’s in sterns lab and a bunch of soldiers come out with taser sticks? Like really? Taser sticks… don’t most military personnel have guns? His jet pack can match the strength of red hulk… I mean come on. Then to top it off he defeats red hulk with a sweet sentiment about his daughter. It just seems like an easy out to me.

Captain America: Brave New World

I have read the short story of the monkey and this movie is such a bad representation of a good story. They could’ve made it somewhat scary if they followed the basic guideline that Stephen king laid out but this fell flat in the worst way possible. Awful movie that’s comical in how bad it is. This move is simply terrible. 0 redeeming qualities it deserves every bit of this 1/5 score. Save your money and watch it on streaming if you’re thinking about going out to watch this dumpster fire.

This movie may be cheesy and hilarious but it’s honestly a really cool premise. It’s a good sci-fi movie, the type of sci-if that we’ve gone away from unfortunately. Nobody is willing to try anything out of the box anymore because they’re scared of box office failure and ridicule but we really need more movies like this. They live and invasion of the body snatchers were cool in their own way.

They Live

This is my all time favorite book, and for good reason too. Stephen king really struck gold with this one. King really shows us the duality of a person and the struggles they go through to become functioning member of society.The internal struggle that manifests into an external struggle is a slow build that really garners your attention and sheds light on jacks good and bad sides. You’ll find yourself feeling bad for him on one page and chastising him on the next. He’s like a coin with good and evil on each side but when he gets to the overlook it seems the overlook has rigged the coin and the good can no longer be found on either side. If you haven’t read this amazing story I’d give it a try. It’s a must read in my humble opinion.

While this book isn’t on the same level as its big brother the shining it’s still amazing in its own right. Rose the hat was an amazing antagonist that epitomizes the evil in the world. I mean what’s scarier than a serial killing vampire that exclusively kills children and sucks their life essence out for sustenance? Doctor sleep was a sequel that wasn’t necessary but boy am I happy to get a little peak into Danny’s life after the overlook. I’d say if you enjoyed the shining you’ll get some joy out of reading this.

IT was one of the best books i’ve ever read without a doubt. It was full of rich character development and really immerses you into the story to the point that you feel like you’re physically in derry and are part of the loser club. The way that stephen king is able to flow their childhood memories to their current situations in the present is nothing short of masterful. The ending was a little bit odd but all and all it was a fantastic book that i would recommend 10 out of 10 times.
