My top A24 film. This is a fantastic, masterful horror movie from Ari Aster. This is not a scary film involving cheap jump scares, this is a PURE HORROR film that takes place around family or one that's falling apart. The performances in this film are phenomenal, especially Collette's - who, and I'm being 100% honest here, was robbed for an Oscar because she is incredibly raw in this film. The direction as well; when Aster is put behind the camera in this film, he is very precise and minute and he does an incredible job with working for atmosphere and raw emotion and he excels, giving you a disturbing and unsettling horror film that will not leave your mind. I remember the first time watching it, and I thought to myself 'I need to watch more.' Aster is a new visionary thanks to A24 and I really can't wait to see what he does next. 9.25/10

I don't get why so many people are being so uptight about this film, what did you think: that Sandler was just gonna play himself for like the 15th time? Screw that! This film is probably the best performance of his career and it is such a triumph. Even though his character is a humongous scumbag, with Sandler behind the wheel there's an engaging factor to it. The thing about Sandler: he's a great actor WITH THE RIGHT MATERIAL. Julia Fox as well, this is her first feature and she is excellent and, even though she's not, she seems very experienced. Kevin Garnett as well - and I have to praise him because usually when athletes get behind the camera their performances are 'meh.' But with the directors and Garnett, he really shines. Speaking of, the Safdie Brothers' tight and aggressive direction with their close-up cinematography, people yelling over each other, and loud electronic music - compliments of Daniel Lopatin or Oneohtrix Point Never whose work I really liked in Good Time and especially this - really gives the film such a stressful mood. For anybody who has seen Good Time, this is basically that but upped-like-hell, like, exponentially better with the suspense elements. I remember I was out of breath after my screening - it was such an overwhelming film, but in a good way. Watch this film;, you're either gonna love it or hate it - and I love it! 9/10

This is probably my favorite short film I've seen! Its slow-burn and thought-provoking themes mixed with the unsettling atmosphere makes this a fantastic work from Jeremy Comte.
