While far from perfect, it held my interest all the way through. As the story unfolds, it gains depth and unexpected emotional resonance. I found some parts silly and contrived, yet overall it connected the dots in an entertaining and engaging way. The key message for me was that time flies and it profoundly behooves us to pay attention to even the supposedly small moments of our life, because one by one, they all disappear, and if we are not mindful of them in the actual moment, they’re gone forever, and all we’re left with is regret that we weren’t more attuned to the passage of time.

It reminded me, in spirit primarily, of The Queens Gambit. Except here, wine and wine collecting, substitutes for chess. I found it exceptionally compelling and appreciate how the story unfolded, layer after layer. And I don't drink much wine at all. But that didn't matter. While the wine might provide the motif, the series' heart is the focus on relationships and the familial tensions and secrets that create rifts and drama in so many lives. Highly recommended.

Brilliantly crafted, maddening, hypnotic, devil in the details, not for your average movie goer. This one takes and rewards commitment.

I expected much more. The plot-less script clunks along in tepid fashion with little to say about the characters' motivation. The dialogue is dull, revealing little and the movie is both utterly predictable and ultra tedious. Woods is better than Wagner by a long shot. He wears perhaps three different facial expressions the entire movie and his delivery is flat and emotionless. She doesn't have much to do, but you do sense her fear of the outside world, as embodied in Wagner's role. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
