Compared to the 1957 movie, this remake lacks the tension of the original, starring Henry Fonda. Also, Reginald Rose's screenplay doesn't quite 'fit' in the modern setting. A movie 'of its time', the 1957 version exemplified the prejudices and anti-Hispanic tropes of that particular era. The introduction of black characters left the movie in a confused and fragmented state. Where was the Racial tension? This, in my opinion, was a waste of money and, more importantly, my time. A pathetic attempt to bring a Classic movie up to date which failed miserably.

Whilst the multiple characters playing "Angie" purported to show the diversity of personality, one actress, displaying a multiple personality psychological 'type' would have been more apposite. Having said that, the context of a prostitute being the subject of a documentary is interesting. Those whom might presume titillation, or some form of sexual gratification, by viewing this film would, undoubtedly, be disappointed. I, on the other hand, found the notion quite intriguing. Overall, the concept is excellent, but, the multiple actresses playing the same character left me wondering why bother? A good attempt at demonstrating that, whilst men, in general view ALL women as a single or ubiquitous "object " is admirable, in principle, could have been much more, if the notion of the "all-woman" had been suggested, rather than completely adhered tothroughout. tgód.

Whilst trying hard to be enigmatic, 'The Consultant' lacks a clearly-defined structure - stumbling from the improbable to the ridiculous. It may entertain under-30's in its enigmatic, sub-noir style. However, for anyone who grew up without a Game Controller in their hand, it is sorely lacking in conceptual depth. Enigmatic, for enigmatic sake, just isn't enough. There is no sub-text to speak of, leaving only a superficial, not to say, poor version of a 'who done it' lacking any driving desire to care "who"?
