Modern noir. Great nuanced performances. A screenplay about character. Almost European in feel. Not your average crime movie. See it before it leaves Netflix at the end of this month.

70s SF at their best: both sci fi and San Francisco before the Tech Bros ruined it.

Quite a good adaptation of the novel. I think, though, that the screenplay had a more pat ending than the book. Good cast all around.

Never heard of this movie before we watched it last night. We loved it. Nick Cage at his wildman best but his character changes. A tricky whodunnit plot. Good supporting actors. Gaudy casino/hotel setting really puts you back in the 80s. What's not to like?

Yeah, we liked this quite a bit. Nicolas Cage at his best sleazy wild guy ... to start. With a nicely drawn character change inside a whodunnit. Good co-stars. Moves right along. Gritty and fun. What's not to like?

One of the most boring movies I have ever seen, right from the too long opening scene.

Well, we liked it. Laughed all the way through.

I'm not sure it needed to be quite so slow, but I stayed to the end, and I believed every single performance. Not fun. Not a laugh in the movie. But a lot of truth.

Slow but intriguing. I might have liked it but for the horrible sound track. Torture, indeed.

A time machine. A lot of what people think of as the 60s were really the early seventies. But with grit. The bleak settings of Northern England really put the noir in this dark film. Michael Caine at his sexiest.
