"Let's ignore 90% of other character's development to explore Iron Man and Captain America some more." The Marvel films are all flash and little substance. Whoever is the highest paid saves the day and gets their story wrapped up neatly. A bunch of fancy effects is what people are reviewing, not the writing. RIP to every character who has actual personal issues with Thanos and just gets brushed aside without a second thought.
