I thought that i would have enjoyed this movie as it reminded me of the old spy kids. It made me smile, it made me laugh and my seven year old sister loved it. You do not have to watch sharkboy and lavagirl to watch this movie; as those characters aren't very important. Acting was ok as was the storyline was until... the ending. I am all for a good plot twist, maybe even 2, but this was insane. *SPOILER ALERT*. Out first twist is that some humans who we thought where humans, are aliens (which i totally called and saw coming 😁) and that was cool. Then our next twist was that one of the little kids was also an alien- this was fine. And from here the writers wrote themselves into a corner. I can just imagine the conversation "we can't just have evil aliens again" "but why not?" "I know! They'll all be good and the whole adventure and kids almost dying was part of their plan to make way for new heros!" This is where i lost it. The character who was the kid but not turned out to be the leader of the aliens where and explained that it was part of the plan. And they weren't evil, they did it for the good of humanity and take over was the take over of the heros. WHAT???!! So yeah, no. Great for kids, great mistake for 10 plus.
