I never paid much attention to the character Yoshi in general, maybe here and there on Mario Kart I'd choose him as my icon rider. I played some Yoshi Island as well in the past on the Nintendo Switch itself SMW2 "lab". I tried the demo looking around in the Nintendo shop and really enjoyed playing it in general. I found a new love for Yoshi and their game, as well as puzzle-solving games in general. The outfits, style, depictions, as well as story, were so beautiful and original. It is such a beautiful game and definitely quite the unique one. With lots of levels, multiplayer-mode, and singular player mode. The game is quite enjoyable, rather it's playing new levels or some of the other levels over and over again. I highly recommend getting the game (or demo first to try it out) as it is just such a lovely game.
