Lyn Russell

Beautiful, moving film redolent of Merchant Ivory productions. Slow, almost languid; wonderful cameos by Olivia Coleman and Glenda Jackson; sensitive handling of love scenes and nudity. Josh O’Connor is excellent, but the standout is talented Australian actress Odessa Young, who is destined for a brilliant future.

One hell of a ride! A great, entertaining experience; old fashioned moviemaking at its best with modern technical advancements to make it even better. So much fun!

Totally wonderful series. ❤️ The first episode was very very confronting to watch, but as the episodes progressed we became totally engrossed in the story and the amazing characters. Ben Whishaw is outstanding, along with the rest of this distinguished cast. Worth bingeing if you can make the time, and so poignant at the end. Hope there might be a further series, as this is based on a wonderful book and a real story of the NHS and those who work in it. Congrats on truly outstanding television, BBC.

Great show, with the exception of the excruciating Ben Hillman, who overacts, prances and preens everywhere and patronises both the audience and the poor buyers (particularly the women!)

Fabulous drama; great acting, excellent feel for the period.

Fabulous series for an older feminist like me! Great acting, the music is so evocative of the era (as are the clothes!). I forgot how much we all smoked...it was a symbol of women’s liberation/sophistication. Some terrific insights into the key players of the women’s movement in its heyday. Kudos to two great Australian actresses in Cate Blanchett and Rose Byrne. A must see!

Gorgeous to watch; this is a feast for Downton Abbey fans. Great cinematography and costumes. All the favourite characters are revisited through contrived but enjoyable plot twists, and there is plenty of romance and intrigue. Two hours of nostalgic, enjoyable fantasy all brought together in a satisfying ending. Let the cynics rant, but this is a most enjoyable movie experience! 4 stars.

Fabulous series....love it every week! Suranne Jones is outstanding, and should get awards for her performance. Congrats on an amazing production.
