Campaign and zombies are great, no complaints about these modes and I’m really excited for more zombies maps.
Multiplayer is a whole different story. If you just take the mechanics, weapons, maps, score streaks, they are all pretty decent. But sbmm truly sucks all the fun out of multiplayer. They cater wayyyy too much to the not so skilled players. My 2 biggest frustrations:
1. In-game adjustments of hit detection, hit boxes, damage, etc... basically if you’re doing too good they’ll make the hit boxes on your enemies smaller and your enemies hit boxes on you larger. Sometimes I’ll be going off and then all the sudden it feels like I’m shooting blanks and I’ll die to some bullets that were not meant for me nor did they even hit me which is clear in the killcams. You’ll also lag when you see some players because they prioritize sbmm over ping and connection (this happens often).
2. The lack of communication and transparency between activision and the cod community. It’s known for a fact that sbmm has been in cod since modern warfare 2019. Yet activision still refuses to admit that it’s in the game. I mean you can literally read the patents for sbmm but they still have yet to acknowledge sbmm to the community. This feels like such a stab in the back for people like me who have been die hard fans for 10+ years. They all the sudden just ruin our gaming experience and then drop off the radar.
Honestly the game is worth buying just based off zombies and the campaign. But I’m giving it a 1 star because activision literally RUINED a potentially all-time great cod multiplayer for no clear reason other than to make more money off in-game transactions.
