I made it a point to watch the first episode because there was, in fact, an "oldest rookie" years ago who entered the police academy in his thirties or maybe even his forties. He graduated with his class. Thirteen minutes into the first episode of The Rookie, I turned it off. It was totally unrealistic and technically poor. This week, I gave it another chance. No improvement. If the producers cannot produce a more realistic image of policing in Los Angeles, they should create an imaginary metropolis like Gotham City rather than defile the image of LAPD. An Adam 12, it ain't. The technical adviser should be sacked.
