If you’re looking for a fast paced book that’s easy to read this is definitely for you. I decided to try it while I was waiting for someone not expecting much but man was I surprised. It doesn’t take long at all to read so if you’re looking for a book to skim through this is perfect. The book goes through the story of the main characters plus the people connected to them (adding chapters dedicated to side characters usually just feels like the author is trying to fill the book out instead of actually focusing on the plot) which I usually don’t like but surprisingly I didn’t mind it too much as I think the author did a fine job keeping the side character’s chapters to a minimum while still letting the readers get a feel for who they are. The only criticism I can genuinely say that might draw someone away from the book is how Rufus talks as the slang his character uses just seems too forced sometimes and usually this type of thing would make a book be a hard pass for me but after I moved past the awful attempt at slang it was actually pretty dang good. Like I stated earlier it’s a pretty fast read, even as a slow reader, and there’s a bunch of Easter eggs scattered throughout the entire book so I thought that was a nice touch. All in all if you can get past the slang I definitely recommend giving this a shot the worst that can happen is you tried something new and you don’t like it.
