While this movie had a fairly strong plot (excluding some rather large plot holes and poor cuts) for the first hour and 15 minutes, it had the most abrupt and unconvincing ending. It was like someone cuts the lights on production, or Netflix ran out of money. Without spoiling anything for anyone, I'll try to give you a synopsis of the last 15 minutes. Keep in mind this movie is 1 hour and 30 minutes long.
The climax was terrible. Poor action scene, and while there was some sentiment behind it, it didn't really have much kick.
The resolution involved an iPad. No ground-breaking discovery, no novel idea...an iPad.
The last few minutes was just some jargon about evolution and humanity. Again, nothing novel here.
In summation, if you want to be really stoked about a movie for a little over an hour, pause it to use the restroom and note the time, you'll be sadly disappointed when you are wondering how in they're going to wrap up everything in under 15 minutes. Even if there were an extra hour in the movie, it would have been possibly 3-4 stars in my book and still nothing spectacular given its predecessor - A Quiet Place.
