I personally enjoyed watching it. The sound design is awesome and the visuals are just so amazing. Space is such a beautiful yet deadly place and this movie shows both sides of that "coin of reality" as I call it. If I were to rate this film on just that it'd be 5 stars easily. However, as a hard Sci-fi author with the eye for story development, I'm only giving it 2 stars (only because the visuals and sound design make up for the trainwreck of a story). This movie seriously lacks actual character development and plot development. The virus or whatever killing everything on earth was never explained, the flashbacks were confusing and not impactful to the plot. I watched this movie with my mom and only yesterday the rating was in the 80%s. A drop in rating this fast should tell you what a horrific trainwreck this movie is. At the end my mom asked, "I'm confused, can you explain what happened?" My only possible response was to shrug and say "nope, not really." I walked away with more unanswered questions than I had before watching it...
