Going into this movie, I had never read the book nor seen the previous movies so I was very excited. But the story was all over the place. I could never tell what was past or present. The movie kept jumping around erratically and it made zero sense and was so hard to follow. Also, the girls spoke like we do currently in 2019. It didn’t genuinely feel like they worked that hard to make it seem like this was part of the past, besides the costumes, which were very lovely. Also, the girls looked exactly the same in the past and present, so that made it even more confusing. Without all the jumping around, it would’ve been a great movie and I would’ve enjoyed it so much more. I think it really took away from it and was completely unnecessary. For people who have never read the book nor seen the movies, it’s chaos. My sister, who had read the book, was even confused at where the movie was in time. That’s saying something!! Don’t believe the overwhelmingly positive reviews
