SPOILER ALERT!! Reasons I wasn’t totally in love with the drama but over all a wonderful drama. Don’t get me wrong. Lee Min Ho always represents and delivers a fantastic performance along with every character that starred in this drama. My main problem was the writing involving the characters. In the drama the character Jung Tae-Eul was a rock that wasn’t easily shaken. Lee Gon even says when she visits his palace that he thinks it’s harder to cross the wall that she put up than crossing worlds. He still hasn’t broken that wall then at the end of episode episode 6 while he’s been away and visits her in Korea, she runs and embraces him after standing her ground up until that point. There wasn’t any decisions she makes to slowly open herself up but all at once does it and I didn’t understand that part too well. Another character that didn’t get his story plotted out too well was Yeong. Lee Gon emphasizes multiple times that Yeong is his unbreakable sword and is an excellent fighter yet Yeong only shows 2 short fight scenes that only showed a glimpse of what he was really made of. As well as showing his true relationship with Lee Gon. The picture on Yeong and Lee Gon shows them having a wonderful time in the military and being friendly. And it shows through some scenes that the two’s relationship is in fact strong, Yeong doesn’t show too much emotion to prove that fun familiar relationship. Another point involving Yeong’s character is how he’s shut Eun Seob out and threatens him a lot yet during episode 15 Yeong has a semi sentimental confession with Eun Seob and runs to him to give him a hug which completely contrasts his stiff rock hard personality. These are a few of the things I have noticed while watching the show. The graphics and acting was absolutely amazing and over all is an outstanding drama.
