EVERYONE HERE IS WRONG. the british show did come first (2001-2003.), but the us version (2005-2013) didn't copy it. ricky grevais, the creator and david brent, made a deal with NBC that gives them the rights to the show. with that said, both shows are fantastic. the writing is great, the jokes are hilarious, and the idea itself is great. RESEARCH THINGS BEFORE YOU COMMENT, PEOPLE.
