The movie was a total letdown. From the very start, it felt like the work of an amateur director, as if it was filmed by someone fresh out of school. The storyline seemed like it was written over a decade ago, with outdated ideas and uninspiring execution. I had some hope that the plot would eventually pick up or offer something fresh, but it just fell flat. The so-called "twists" were ridiculous and felt forced.
The director, who once made successful films, seems to have lost touch with what works. He clearly can't handle mass-appeal films and should stick to smaller, more personal projects. His earlier works like Goa, Chennai 28, Mankatha were commendable. Even Saroja and Biryani had a little bit of entertainment but the quality has taken a steep decline in his last few outings (Maanadu - too boring, Manamadha Leelai - scrap and GOAT - poor acting, poor storyline, poor direction. He hinted at a sequel at the end of the movie, but frankly, he shouldn't even consider it. With a weak script like this, it’s doubtful he can deliver.
My advice to the director: work with better storywriters, stick to low-budget films, and stop trying to make mass-market hits. Focus on your strengths, work with smaller heroes, and go back to your roots.
