By the way, no offence to anyone who has made Anibo: Spirit Of The Amazon. You all did a good job.
I've been to see that movie in Cineworld recently - to be honest, I didn't have any expectations on it being a great movie at all before I had even seen it, but I decided to go see it anyway and see if it's better than I think.
There was a five star review headline on the poster saying 'MOANA MEETS BRAVE' - even if it was one person's opinion, I wouldn't really be fooled by it if I were you.
The animation wasn't bad (it was no Disney or Illumination, I'll give you that) - and the storytelling is good, packed with adventure, emotion and good characters - and talking of the characters, there were two girl characters the same age and at first I couldn't really tell which of those two was the main character, but soon I knew, and you'll know too.
However, throughout the film I felt like those two 'loopy' spirit guide characters Vaca and Dillo were there just for unprepared forced comedy - it's almost like whenever there's a chance for a humorous moment, they're always too late so they blow every chance every time!
It's also almost as if they were trying too hard to be as good as Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King!
Bet they would be feeling sorry for them! They could teach them a thing or two.
It does have a Moana style, and a bit of Brave style too, IF not as good as those two films.
It's always fun to make your own movies and try to be as good as Disney, Dreamworks, that sort of thing - but it isn't as easy as you think, let alone trying to make it as funny as the originals!
These sorts of films, like Anibo: Spirit Of The Amazon - I wouldn't rely on any of them to be as good as the classic originals which we still know and love today.
Anibo is a good emotional family adventure story, but I wouldn't rely on any classic laugh-out-loud humour from the good but also terribly-unfunny-at-the-same-time spirit guides.
It is a fine film, but there are better movies in the world to watch, like The Lion King (both original and remake), Moana, Brave, etc.
