True to the source material, beautifully animated (as would be expected from James Cameron), with gorgeous action sequences juxtaposed against a dirty cyberpunk setting. Critics panning the film likely shouldn't be assigned to the genre to begin with. It's literally what you'd expect from Robert Rodrigez. Not every film has to be a drama chock full of monologues to be considered great. But you wouldn't know that from the flaming, burning, dumpster fire that has become the current state of film criticism in America.
