A technically fascinating game, with so much accessibility and innovation put into all its systems. One of the best looking games I ever seen, but is completely thwarted by the bad, and down right depressing writing of the story. Considering the Last of Us is primary a story driven game, to have the story go so wrong.
I am not using the Star System in it's traditional sense, as I rather go on a 'Don't buy' 'Wait for sale' or 'Must Have' scale.
This is definitely a don't buy for those who are looking for a good story experience, especially those who have played the first game. This story tries so hard to put out a message of the 'cycle of violence' and 'revenge', that it literally sacrifices everything story-wise that made the first game so beloved. Not only that, you spend more than half the game as a character you will find little empathy toward. And many of the characters you do love, make dumb decisions that you would feel you should've made yourselves.
