Totten Family

I randomly came across this late last night because I couldn't sleep. I wanna support black women and KiKi trying something out of her norm but this was awful. The accents, the plot, the sound effects from the guns, the final shootout scene, the wardrobe and slang...atrocious. It's like nobody from the directors, to the cast to the production team had ever been to the Bronx or NYC for that matter. Fitting that I saw this on Sho X BET because this seemed like a cheesy straight to B.E.T. movie from the 90s. I've seen better scripts and dialogue in video games. It was so laughably bad I couldn't take my eyes off of it. So I guess it has that going for it.

Laughably bad. I get that they want to distinguish themselves from GTA and go the comical route but this franchise hasn't been good since 2. The script/plot is just horrendous. Makes no sense. The game play sucks. The rendering, lack of enter-able buildings etc...Can't believe, in 2022, this is the best they could come up with.

I love Julia Garner but this ain't it. The only people I see that like this movie are women who have been exploited in their own jobs. Being able to relate doesn't mean the movie is good. I get the point. To show morality and choice in toxic work environments but there wasn't enough "there" there to make it an interesting story. Most of the movie is of her cleaning, taking phone calls, doing office work etc. At the end of the movie, I felt like I just completed a 10 hr shift. It was exhausting. Julia was good in it so I gave it a 2. That said, it needed a much more compelling ending than it had. I literally said "THAT'S IT?!" when the closing credits popped up.
