I’m a MASSIVE Tarantino fan. Nearly every film he’s made has kept me glued to my seat. I adore nearly all his scripts, definitely all his casting (inc. this film) and always always his goofy but cleverly artistic cinematography. Most of his films’ one-liners and deliberately-cheesy & over-the-top-stereotypical scenes have made my laugh till I’ve cried. I love his violence because it’s almost always comical in one way or another; even filmed comically (eg Laura flying through the doorway in Django - so cheesy & spaghetti western!). I’ve got a strong stomach, and it’s usually Tarantino’s bad guys who get shot up anyway. So........what did I think of Once upon a time....??? His casting was great - the boys did an awesome job & Leo for one deserves an Oscar. The cinematography was not as interesting as usual for Tarantino, but it was ok. But all in all I was SO disappointed in this movie. It was boring. Boring! Nothing happened for 2 hours except the exploration of his characters; something Tarantino usually does simultaneously with some action. When there finally WAS some action, it was great, and I finally had a laugh. The best part of the film. But it took so long to get there I nearly fell asleep. 3/10. (My nine out of tens are Res Dogs, Django, Jackie B. & the Kill Bills).
