I didn't grow up on He-Man but got into it a few years ago as an adult. MotU feels very much like the same mish-mash of fantasy and sci-fi commercialism but with higher stakes and very real characters. Beyond the expected cast there's a good chunk of villains and friends from the original series who have memorable appearances. Orko is very much the same as he ever was but the writers have finally managed to make him as endearing as they presumably intended instead of being an annoying plot device for half the episodes. Evil-Lyn's progression had me at the edge of my seat. The story will take fans for a ride but stick with it to the end and the pay off is huge. It's fantastic and I can't wait for more.
