i remember when i read the book by the very talented and funny Katy Lette and Gabrielle Carey when i was 17, and when i found out there was a film version i was defintley interested in seeing it. Set in the 80s, The film centres around the 2 main characters in the movie 15 year old best friends Debbie Vickers ( Nell Schofield) and Sue Knight (Jad Capeljia) who are desperate to become surfer chicks in the popular group who hang around Greenhills area of the Cronulla Beaches in Sydney New South Wales. At first they try sitting near the popular girls the ringleader Tracey, who is in tow with Cheryl, Vicki, and Kim, and the guys of the group Strang, Seagull, Matt, Danny, Gary and Bruce, who basically shrug the 2 girkls off as nerds. On the way on the school bus one morning Debbie and Cheryl do have a fight on the school bus that gets broken up quickly, and then the scene shoots to a test where Danny, Gary, Debbie and Sue get caught cheating by the headmaster (Charles Bid Tinglewell). Tracey approaches the 2 girls and asks if they told on them and Debbie and Sue claimed they'd never dob which proves their loyality and then asks if the girls want to go to the toliets to have a ciggerette. From there Debbie and Sue are in their group, which once in the circle they craved so much to be apart of they realise it's a quick lesson of guys who quickly use and abuse by wanting the girls to go round with them, get stoned, have sex with their boyfriends whenever expected, and hang around on the beach watching them surf. Debbie becomes increasing moody and bored with her family, and eventually gets together with Tracey's ex boyfriend Gary, the two get along great until Tracey suspects she may be pregnant and Gary starts getting heavily involved in taking herion. One night when the crew are all in the main town, there is an ambulance down the alleyway, there is a man proclaimed dead on the scene and when loaded onto the stretcher it's revealed it's Gary. Debbie having the realisation that rather than just being with the crew, she wants to stand out and start surfing herself, as she was always told by the guys and girls in the crew " Girls dont surf" after Gary's death decides to go to the beach and surf, actually surprising the girls and Danny with how good she is. It's defintley an Aussie cult classic and has also been revamped into a TV series now as well, the music is mainly all written by Split Enz and New Zealand music legend Tim Finn, is available to purchase on You Tube.

I would have to say this is one of my fave shows, I have grown up on British comedies and dramas and this one didnt disapoint, it centres around the two main characters Gavin Shipman ( Mathew Horne) who is in his 20s, works in the IT industry and lives with his mum and dad Pamela ( Alison Steadman) and Mick ( Larry Lamb) in Essex UK he has been chatting to admin assistant in his works office in Wales Stacey West (Joanna Page) for six months, and Gavin and Stacey arrange to meet up in London, in tow for the first meeting is Gavin's childhood best friend and basically part of the family Smithy ( James Corden) and Stacey's best friend lady of the world Nessa ( Ruth Jones) the two hit it off immediatley while Nessa and Smithy at first dispise one another but by the end of the evening is a funny and different story. By the first episode Gavin and Stacey have confirmed they are in love and want to embark on life together, and their friends and family are along for the ride with Stacey's lovely but widowed mum Gwen ( Melanie Walters) her over protective and sheltered uncle Bryn ( Rob Brydon) and their next door neighbour the cheeky and hilarious eldery neighbour Doris ( Margaret John) On Gavin's side his friends, Budgy, Gary and Simon, Fingers, Dirtbox, Dino, and also Pam and Micks best friends Dawn ( Julia Davis) and Pete Sutcliffe ( Adrian Scarborough) who provide some comedy gold and also Smithy's sister Rudy ( Sheridan Smith). This series is so great because of the comedic timing and storyline but also because of the dramatic scenes and also how all the characters all interact together, you feel like you can relate to each and everyone of them, these would be people in your family, or friends, or people you work with they feel so familiar. Written by Ruth Jones ( Nessa) and James Corden ( Smithy) who has gone on to have massive success as the host of the Late Late Show in America, this show is a British classic and even with the 2019 Christmas Special had over 18.5 million viewers tune in 10 years after the show ended. Would defintley recommend for a great series.

I first saw this show when i had a friend of mine download 4 episodes of it and thought id give it a go, and its a lovely, funny show that starts off with the main character Bella ( Elizabeth Reaser) who is out with her sister Daphne ( Rachel Boston) for Daphne's hens night for her upcoming wedding to her fiancee Marty, they head into the local pyschic who sees Bella last, and when Bella is told that if she doesnt marry within the year she will be alone forever, and that the person is someone she's had a romantic relationship with in the past, recently breaking up with her long term partner Elliott, who was a commitment phobe but loved by her family and friends, Bella is advised to look out for the signs that start leading her to who it could be, on the ride as well is her best friend from college and neighbour Augie (Adam Rothenberg) and his girlfriend Vivian ( Alexandra Brackenridge) and their flatmate Cyrus ( Amir Talai) as spectators. I believe this show was actually cancelled in the orginally circulation of release, but i thought it was a great carefree, enjoyable show that was light heartered, the only thing is its a hard series to find, i have had to source from the UK to purchase but would recommend if you are into comedy drama series

I love this series and the families, I love Lee and Jenny the best their friendship and banter are comedy gold also Pete and Sophie as well, if you are looking for a 45 min laugh out loud reactions to the UK news stories, reality shows, movies and Tv series from groups of people ranging from early 20s to their 70s this is the show for you, all the families are relatable, everyday people and their connection and reaction is what makes the show, its a shame I'm in Australia, so you can either watch on Foxtel or on You tube

I purchased this on Youtube last night as I had heard great things about this doco, and I am so glad i did. This shows how Brian "Head" Welch of nu metal band Korn, had it all the fame, fortune and excess, and the journey through his drug descend and discovering Christiany and who walked away from it all to raise his daughter Jannea. So it starts off where Brian grew up in Bakersfield CA and has interviews with his parents, his band mates in Korn, and his daughter from his beginings and finding success with Korn and how he and his wife split and he took on the role as a full time father and walked away from the band to do that. Then Brian recalls his descent into a meth addiction, and how he checked into a hotel to "self detox" and turned to Christanity to seek guidiance, then decided to leave LA and move to Phoenix where he gave away most of his money. Jannea started to become more withdrawn and angry in her teens from her being letdown by both parents (her mother was in and out of her life from the age of 3 due to mental health issues) that she went to a teen home that specialised in helping teenagers with anger, emotional issues and who had had parents who suffered or they had lost from addiction ect. This is a bittersweet, emotional, raw and real story about how a rock star who had everything gave it up for the one person who meant everything to him and he to her, and how through all the ups and downs they have come out stronger at the other end. Defintley worth the watch for sure

This is a great series of quirky, lovable and varied characters that you can't help but laugh, cry, relate and champion on throughout the series. Based on the main character obstetrics Dr Nina Proudman (Asha Keddie) who is smart, friendly and well respected by her colleagues but often gets nervous and has a creative imagination in her head of social and romantic situations. Her parents real estate owner Darcy Proudman, who is a free spirited, and philandering ladies man, and architect hippy minded yet dramatic mother Geraldine,who are separated are either arguing or flirting or ending up in bed together, are very dependent emotionally on Nina. As well as older sister Billie Proudman ( Kat Stewart) who is brash, dramatic, honest almost to being too blunt, but is always there when it matters for her family who recently got her real estate license and works for Darcy, and is planning to be more responsible as she has always been regarded the "rebel" of the family, and is in an on-off relationship with local pub singer Mick Holland ( Eddy Perfect) who is sweet and kind but very unmotivated. With also traveler, dreamer and the youngest member of the family Jimmy, who has recently moved back home from being overseas backpacking, works in the local pub Mick performs at and has a very overactive imagination and often gets in a lot of situations over this and not completely honest all the time, but luckily he grows out of this habit. It shows all the trials and tribulations of a family and the friends, partners, and colleagues around them who with all their personalities, and views, they are always there for each other when it counts, is a feel good show that is very addictive, i would recommend as a great series to get into

I absolutely love this show, and it's a great way of seeing the locations and different experiences other than the norm. For anyone who hasn't seen this show it's centered around 5 groups of travelers who Channel 9 foot their travel bill and expenses and in return they give a detailed and honest travel reviews out of 5. You have the funny and always charming Fren Family from Newcastle, Dad and Mum Mark and Cathy and their children Victoria and Jonathon who are always very entertaining and quick witted and willing to give everything a go. Newlyweds Deep and Sage who just joined this series are from Melbourne and bring their fun and positivity to the show Outback twins Stack ( Stacey) and Mel who are used to the great open spaces are always entertaining and their banter are always entertaining The Target boys, Kevin, Teng and Dorian are in their early 20s and are generally budget travelers and you can see they have a great banter and are up to try all the experiences on offer. Then there is self proclaimed travel "snobs" Kevin and Janetta from Melbourne who favor the more luxurious side of travel and are always have great wit and entertainment for the viewers will generally be more into the scenic tours than the adrenaline charged activities that the other cast members participate in. Narrated by Australian comedic queen Denise Scott this is a great chill out LOL feel good and informative travel show, is on Tuesday nights at 9pm check it out
