Not awful. Not great. But it gives you what you want. 90 mins of leave your brain at the door action movie fun.

Shogun = excellent historical drama that creates a rich and evocative 16th/17th century Japan that allows you to escape into a rich and plausible world… Shardlake = Naff soap opera in period clothing with 21st century diversity crammed into Tudor England. I love all my british brothers and sisters of all creeds (truly, i’m not some closeted, aggy racist) but fgs if we’re doing a historical drama set in 16th century England, make it a bit more realistic and stop pumping 21st century politics into every facet of art and culture. All feels a bit gaslighting to drop this and Shogun concurrently. One authentic, reverent of a time and place in history and ensnaring … the other… well, the opposite basically.

Great watch and insight into a great band. Very open, very entertaining and in some ways a little sad. Seeing his battles with his voice is heartbreaking.

Garbage. I couldn’t wait for this film to come out. I suffered a turgid 2 hours of muddled Netflix style historical love drama and then walked out when Napoleon led a cavalry charge at Waterloo. Bill and Ted was more historically accurate and certainly more entertaining.

Bit dull and heavy going tbh. Not sure theres really any new info or new interesting / credible talking heads. I’m in the ‘they’re probably guilty’ camp and was hoping this would bring an exciting and or conclusive new angle to things but so far theres freely available YouTube content thats better, less diffuse and easier to watch. Tbf i’m only 3 episodes in but basically giving up as a bit bored

I have a very strong allergic reaction to SJW narratives. I also love LoTR and have done since I was a little boy. I was very worried … but… I don’t find RoP to be sullied by SJW/wokeism at all so far (despite all the noise). Its beautifully filmed, epic in scale, well acted and certainly watchable. My only criticism is it feels slightly more generic fantasy genre than Tolkienesque… All the hoo-ha about diverse casting is OTT imo. It doesn’t detract from the story telling or ‘authenticity’ of the world for me. Not in the slightest…If it had been done with an SJW ideological story to boot I’d get it. But its not.

Awesome. Original. Not woke rubbish but effortlessly incorporates diverse casting in a great way. Not MCU gruel. Bit gory. Complex characters with believable and interesting stories, motives and arcs. Really like this show..:one of the best shows in some time from one of the big streaming platforms

Still the best show on Netflix

I really don’t get why this film has had negative reviews. I thought it was great, TBH it was better than the first one. Lebron can act as well. The movie has a great moral message and values, is funny and doesn’t ram a whole load of Hollywood ideology down your neck. I think we are just living through a miserable time and people are negative about too much
