If I have to sit through a film of debauchery and horrific killing in the quest for plunder and victory, then let it at least be historically accurate. Shakespeare Oui! The movie Non!

Christopher Abbott was outstanding as the lead actor and his expressive face spoke a thousand words. George Clooney - not so much. The futility of war and man’s insane fascination with it is being repeated right now and probably ever will be. Ca va sans dire.

Best movie all year - Helen Mirren is a tour de force and the direction is brilliant! Sadly it’s also very topical. Not to be missed.

Gripping - engages from the start. Very topical in 2022

An addictive escape from the Covid news and I became enchanted with Omer and his girlfriend. The twists and turns in the story of good versus evil had me looking forward to every evening of Netflix. I never thought I would ever be drawn into watching a Soap of any persuasion but this caught a willing admirer.

The underbelly of the quest for perfection is poignantly portrayed and the anguish of unfathomable rejection of family values is heartbreaking. The contrast of rural small town life with the ugly reality of poverty and hopelessness is stark. Well worth a watch

Very disjointed and the time shifts were disconcerting. The acting was credibly good but the direction became out of sync at times. A bit of a fairy tale for naive devotees of the genre.

A thought provoking, serious portrayal of a woman whose misplaced love led her to divulge nuclear secrets to Russia. Fortunately the result was stalemate and the balance of power prevented another more devastating war. The end justifies the means? The acting was powerful and convincing. Focussed concentration was needed with the constant oscillations in time and the sometimes, incoherent dialogue. A very enjoyable movie for those who like serious attempts to portray historical events in a fictionalised way. Another quality British film!
