"The Greatest Showman" shows the life and works of PT Barnum, the father of the lighted circuses you see today. I never knew Hugh Jackman could sing... and he sings really well in this movie! Great for all those who love musicals, and the songs are well-written and composed.
You will definitely enjoy the songs better than the movie. 'This is Me' by Keala Settle really would melt your heart and also kindle a fire of courage that you are unique and you are yourself -- you don't need to be like someone else. 'Rewrite the Stars' is a melodious song sung by Zac Efron who plays the role of Philip, Barnum's friend and lover of Alice, who is played by Zendaya. Both of them present the song with emotions; Philip tells Alice he loves her, but Alice says it's not possible, and there are lots of other songs too.
In my view, this film is all about a person's belief in themselves. It doesn't matter who you are or where you are from, etc. It matters only what you want to do and if you're gonna strive hard to do it. And that you need to believe in yourself. There will be ups and downs, but you need to have faith.
