As much as I like Famke Janssen, I found it difficult to sympathize with Marnie. Watching her interact with her sister, I was able to make the connect as to why her female neighbors were cold and rebuffed her.As well as why she got jumped by a bunch of her female inmates. Women are usually sympathetic about a battered woman who kills her abusive husband. Not here. "I thought you worked that all out in therapy" to her sister...showed that Marnie had a long history of alienating other women. Not only was her track record of being a C*** most likely why she got jumped in prison and why her sister despised her...that was probably why her ex picked her. It's easier to victimize someone without a network.
However Famke Janssen gave a credible realistic portrayal of a woman who showed that not all battered women arouse compassion. Marnie just wasnt likable. While im glad she survived she just gave me the impression of being someone who created alot of her own problems. And her hopping into bed with the delivery boy..not cool.
