Inspired performances of Gershwin, using the new critical edition and corrected taxi horn pitches, plus a new "uncut" version of the piece with about 3 mins of music cut from the piece just before its 1928 premiere. These recovered measures offer deep insight into Gershwin's musical imagination and ambitions to write a piece that combines narrative with traditional sonata form. Louis Langrée and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra musicians have made this new edition their own. It sparkles.
