It’s the perfect show for Billy Bob Thornton and the sole reason I watch it. The characters of his ex-wife and daughter are nothing but a source of irritation and are irrelevant. There is no strong female character in this series to this point (Episodes 1-3) which is unlike Sheridan’s other projects. Beth’s character from Yellowstone is sorely lacking here.

Most people don’t like this movie. I get it. On the other hand, if you’ve lost someone you loved or have an empathetic soul, this movie will deeply touch you.

Typical disaster movie only better CGI and acting. Several scenes would never occur in real life should the SA fault line trigger an earthquake such as the tsunami, the gaping massive chasms and the amount of utter devastation of San Francisco. And the one major thing that drives me bonkers in these types of movies is that despite all the disasters they go through, everyone (but most particularly the two main female characters) never appear much worse for wear.

If you want a really excellent movie about Latinos breaking into white sports, McFarland USA is the movie to beat. This pales in comparison.

Too many individuals who left unsatisfactory comments unfortunately have little to no knowledge of the time period, the rigid class hierarchy, or the roles of domestic servants in a British aristocratic establishment prior to WWII. Butlers were extremely self-aware of their importance in these households and took a great deal of pride in their service. Americans have watched the popular Downton Abbey’s Mr. Carson, whose character was portrayed with some amusement for the viewer. Anthony Hopkins played this role with a great deal more realism, portraying a man who strived for absolute perfection in service at the cost of personal happiness superbly.

Didn’t do it for me this time. No real connections between the actors, the daughter character was only annoying and none of it made me laugh.

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie!

Critics and others seem to take issue that this retelling of the famous legend isn’t the usual romantic tale of an innocent young boy raising the sword. It’s a more modern, rough and tumble action version with deep references to the mystical. Once I adjusted to the new format of how this story was being retold, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of my favorite movies and one I watch repeatedly. Wonderful casting but Stellan Skarsgard is absolutely fantastic in this movie, taking on a role that caught me completely by surprise!

I thoroughly enjoy watching movies like this one that aren’t made much today - simple, true story, underdog wins, feel good movies. That’s what this and it is unapologetic about it.
