Zachariah Bwendwindle

This is THE true team up movie. Yeah obviously DP and Wolvie team up, but trust me, there are so many team ups in this film from characters you can’t even imagine that it made me perma smile the entire way through. I just couldn’t believe they WENT there!! And did THAT! But they did. This is Evel Knevel jumping 100 flaming cars with people in the crowd shooting bazookas at him. The scope and grandeur of this thing is absolutely unique. The plot is a little thin and hokie but who cares man. That’s not really why I went to see this one. Honestly, there were audible gasps in my screening with the kinds of reveals they pulled off. The violence and gore is completely over the top; just as you would expect from Deadpool and Wolverine tactics. This is a grand entrance for Marvel into the R rated arena. They smoked it man. 9/10. I loved it.

This movie is special. It’s superb in every facet. Masterful filmmaking. The Vangelis score is sort of weird looking back now, but still manages to add depth and punch to the perfectly acted scenes. And the running! I mean, it’s 1924 or whatever and these white dudes can fly!! A clinic on how to make a period piece. The sets are magnificent and precise; and the extras, crowd effects, and tension are nothing short of marvelous. The story is a bit convoluted at times, but it doesn’t matter, the performances and emotion keep you hooked. A solid 5/5. And there aren’t too many of those around these days....
