My opinion on the newly released Fanatstic Beasts is quite equidistant. However, many critics said how the movie was messy or how it was to much happening at once, I differ. I am a JK. Rowling fan and a huge potterhead, and I just have to say sometimes the intensity creates a cliffhanger. I bet people hate it so much, because of the major white knuckles throughout the movie, it leaves you mind boggles and makes your brain think and letting you know now, do not come to conclusions and let the next movie come out and see what happens.
Obviously, if you are a die hard potterhead, you would have noticed some major problems with the movie as I did.
A dead end with Leta Lestrange and her family history, which almost concluded when we hear Leta's late brother corvus was actually Credence, but nope, we were left dry and thirsty for the truth with Credence and Leta.
Furthermore Grindelwald in the last scene told Credence, "there was a myth that phoenixes would come to a dumbledore when in need", is that telling us that Credence is somwhat Albus' long lost or forgotten brother or relative. This leaves the audience either over or underwhelmed by the fact of introducing so many plots but with each and every plot finishes with a dead end.
Another dead end was with Newt and is brother, they mentioned Thesseus in the previous FB and Leta but, how come Newt's highschool best friend and crush end up with his older brother. This was partially told but was not explained clearly enough for the audience to understand. Hopefully they will further continue the backstory between Leta, Newt and Thesseus.
Well, we can all agree that the movie had a lot of open endings that were not completed. But, to keep into consideration, the movie was aimed to be more similar to the half-blood prince or deathly hallows, giving us a more dark and conspicuous feeling. Although I am a little disheartened since HP and FB are my favourite movie series, I still have great hope for the future and where the movie may lead. I still have to say it's not as bad as I heard it was going to be, I still think it's a great movie but a little touches would have made a massive impact. But everyone makes mistakes and all I have to say is that I am waiting for the next movie. And I expect the next movie to have a better developed storyline.
I personally rate this movie a 3/5
