I was so glad to find this on Paramount+ recently! I’m always on the lookout for something to replace the endless loop of Baby Shark and Cocomelon (both are fine, but get old quick!) my older kiddos loved Backyardigans when they were little, and I’m happy to introduce it to my toddler. Super cute, great music and fun little adventures. Be warned though…you WILL get songs stuck in your head. I was singing “almost everything is boinga here” for daaaays. Small price to pay to not have to “run away doo doo” for a bit!

*Disclaimer* I have never seen the original, so I can’t compare the two. My opinion is based on this films own merit, not as a remake. While it’s not bone chillingly scary, it’s a very decent movie. Lots of horror movie cliches of course, but where it stands out is the solid acting. Good acting is a rare thing in a horror film, especially one that’s of the “gore” variety. Geoffrey Rush is particularly great! I enjoyed the subtle comic relief from Chris Kattan too. It’s a movie I usually watch every couple of years around Halloween. It may not keep you up at night, but it’s definitely worth watching!
