I live in a house with my hoarder parents and I long for minimalism. This is exactly the sort of thing the Tiny House Nation offers.
I see a lot of people saying these are expensive homes, but it really just depends on how much they want out of it. Some people have the ready money and time to invest in building them and some don't. Some people trust themselves with tools, and some don't. There's also some issues with Tiny Houses in which it's hard to get permits and insurance unless they are built by licensed professionals. If I wanted the luxury of living in a pretty house, I won't build it myself. I know anything I make wouldn't be elegant.
The hosts are kind hearted and willing to put some work and money into making projects work for the people living in them, even if they aren't building them themselves. I would like to learn to build my own Tiny House, but the fact is, if I had to build it myself in my current situation, I would never leave this hoarder house.
