So I’ve watched up to episode 10 and I must admit, it’s becoming quite hard to ignore the political left wing agenda that’s being shoved down my throat most episodes. I am a conservative but open minded and I loved the original so I will still give it a chance. Here is my analysis so far
Episode 1: anti 2nd A the entire show. Even says at one point “the current president is a fascist who should be hung by his nuts in the town square”. unnecessary
Episode 2: was actually good. The only part was the beginning when the writer felt the need to show the protagonist on the cover of “progressive voices”. The ending felt like a cop out and left something to be desired. Other then that, kudos
Episode 3: was rife with BLM and anti police sentiment. This might have been the worst episode so far in terms of political garbage although I am only up to 10.
Episode 4: was a great premise if you can ignore the hits on Christianity the writers dole out so generously. They made the captain an ignorant bible thumper and eventually the antagonist of the story. Big surprise.
Episode 5: sorry to say I did not watch. I was hoping for a non political episode and it’s entire premise was a political campaign. So yeah, saved myself a bit of typing here I suspect lol.
Episode 6: was great. I loved it. If there was any political nonsense it was too subtle for me to detect. Great episode. Loved the story and the actors. Great work.
Episode 7: Also good in my opinion. No nonsense. Side note: it was cool to see the actress from AHS. Nice ending too. All around good episode.
Episode 8: Sadly this episode did not make it subtle at all. There was a strong focus on illegal immigration and white “privilege” as Peele puts it in his narration. This was one of the worst. Only second to maybe Ep3 where a squad of officers literally pulled up to a HBCU with guns drawn on unarmed students/parents.
Episode 9: Here is another episode where gladly I did not see much of a political focus. I liked this episode a lot.
Episode 10: I am currently watching. So far so good. Although it was kinda funny when Sophie asked herself if she was going crazy but quickly corrected herself because the term crazy “stigmatizes those with mental illnesses”. The writers clearly understand who they don’t want to offend, and who they don’t care so much about.
As you’ve probably guessed I’m conservative, but I don’t like politics in my entertainment from either side and I have a strong feeling that I’m not alone. For example: The Ranch is another show I watched and loved, but it irks me everytime they make a political hit. There are times and places for these messages. Not in my entertainment. Not in my football. It’s no stretch to say that the liberal agenda has consumed the lions share of media, as well as academia and Hollywood almost entirely, but please consider the original message/premise of the twilight zone. Consider all the fans over the years. It’s a horrible thing to alienate all of us in order to placate your hunger for some form of validity via self righteousness. Please keep the politics out. With todays tech and story writing you could have a great show. Consider it.
