First of all,.... the book is awesome! I’ve enjoyed the hunger games trilogy too, however, This prequel adds a totally different perspective to the beautifully created dystopian world of Panem. Focusing on the basic questions regarding society and mankind (Hobbes: bellum omnium contra omnes) and the exemplified conflict within the protagonist: deep, real, beautifully and fluently written! Top! And by the way,... despite the fact, that the main characters are children, the book is not a children’s book at all. The core story, i.e. the deep sociological dilemma as well as the individual stories of the main characters are imho too delicate, complex and “dark” to be appropriate for children.
Loved the book!!
