Just finished Season 2. Awestruck!! Still trying to figure out why neither my husband nor me have heard about this show before?? Just stumbled upon it browsing Netflix for something to watch. Was there no publicity or we somehow missed it? I do think it is severely underrated. Loved Season1 - Cosimo and Contessina - just wow! Because we loved Season 1 so much, we started Season 2 with almost some apprehension; it just seemed characters portrayed in Season 1 were more real and true to the period; and, of course, once you fall in love with some characters and actors, the change to new characters and actors is not easy, we all know that. But, by episode 3 of Season 2, we were fully on board. It is not historically correct in some ways, but guess what? It made both of us sit and research Medici history for hours - that is how we learned more history not only of Medici, but of Florence and Italy and also famous dynasties other than Medici. We are beyond grateful to this show -- all of the people who dreamed it, conceived it, created and produced it!! Not only it was a pure delight to watch, but it also provoked some interesting conversations between me and my husband and, as I said above, ignited our desire to learn more history. THAT is how shows should be! HUGE Thanks!
