It feels like about 90% of this movie is a fan fic that someone wrote and wanted to put into the movie. Many unneeded scenes including the one on the cliff and destroying the house. Humans as always have too much screen time and are forgettable, as well as the family being unlikable and not needed for the plot. Why not just introduce and develope 3 characters: the grease monkey girl, the nerd boy, and the military guy? That would have taken 30mins tops in time for the first conflict and would have given the actual transformers more screen time. The amount of 80's in this movie seems to be forced in, like "hey, you remember tab?(or insert any of the other nostalgia product placements) remember how that was around in the 80's, too? Yea you like that so like this, too!" Some people equate this to E.T. somehow, but to me it felt like it wanted to be "how to train your transformer". I understand the direction that the movie took, but maybe one day we can get a transformers movie that will be at least 70% transformer 30% human? I'm glad that I didn't spend money on this movie, but I'm sure that the people that worked on it will start making another cookie cutter movie like this because of the amount of success that it had. Honestly it felt like the Michael Bay films. I give this a 1/10 (Oh, look! It's the ratio of screen time for transformers v humans!)
