Listen, I love Brandon Sanderson's works. The Stormlight Archives has been my favorite series of all time... but is this book even written by the same guy? It does not capture the same flow and dynamic as the previous books, and leaves out critical comedic and growth elements. This book has a lot of unnecessary exposition, grammatically confusing sentences, and just overall feels rushed. I heard that Sanderson changed editors for this book... maybe he needs to switch back. On a more opinionated note... Sanderson's character development is deep and engaging, but he really needs to speed it up a little. We have dealt with mopey Kaladin and identity crisis Shallan for 3 books already, Sanderson needs to move on so we can enjoy the more meaningful aspects of the characters, and so that we are not just wasting these great stories on constant bouts of sadness and confusion.

This book is masterfully written, with some of the most in depth world and character building I have ever seen. It is epic, but still retain's a sense of realism captured in such different cultures and environments. 10/10 must read.
