I'm not sure why they decided to go from the amazing Stick of Truth and Fractured but Whole formulas for this overly simplistic, poorly designed, rogue-lite formula.
The character options are FAR mor limited than in previous games, hidden behind in game currency. There's a Dark Matter component that scales prices up the more you purchase new upgrades, leaving you with the endless sense that the end of progression always moves further and further away from you the more you invest time in the game.
And then there's the technical problems. Need to roll to evade an attack? Better hope it's on solid ground cause you can't just roll of a ledge, you stay there. So move your 1 foot in a direction and then still get hit. What about enemies and, worse yet, allies in the way while you roll? Well, they'll straight mess you up, too. Need to get over a wall to confront Stan and fight alongside Cartman? Better do it with real people, cause the CPU allies will stand there and just auto killed for falling behind. What about the camera? Well, it never adjusts for the direction you're moving in, so you can jump and dive attack with daggers at an enemy, then point the attack back to follow up after traveling through them, only to swing at air.... Cause the enemy's already ran in a direction that you couldn't see. Then there's the smaller things, like subtitle pacing being WAY off and ahead of the scene. Oh, and whoever coded the gameplay, needs to ensure that button inputs don't somehow disappear. I finish with a gross out debuff, try to respond with my own ability, and then my character just stands there doing nothing. You can even see this with the multiple times you need to press "X" on playstation to add dark matter to your upgrades.
This game reminds me of the old days of Playstation 1 and N64. Where we got "South Park", "Chef's Luv Shack", and "South Park Rally".... All terrible and soulless cash grab games that were god awful.
Go back to turn based or strategy RPGs. Go back to the aesthetic of the show. If you can't, don't even bother making a game like this.
