I really liked the movie! As someone on the spectrum who is semi-verbal,nonverbal a lot of the time as well, wants to stim a lot but tries to hide it as much as possible, and feels misunderstood, I love how the characters grow to understand music! I also love the representation of the other side of the spectrum! Lots of fellow autistics genuinely think that all autistic people feel the same and should think the way they do and I don’t think that’s fair at all. If you can’t relate to the struggles of autistics like music, and etc, I don’t think it’s fair to talk about the movie and criticize every aspect of it. Sure there are some things that shouldn’t be done, but to be real, not everyone’s brain is the same and it hurts to see Sia hated on just for the movie despite what she’s said on Twitter I changed my review recently to 3 stars because I learned about how awful Maddie was treated and etc, and the issues with the movie. So yeah. I still love the music, but I do get the controversy

This movie was amazing! I cried so hard at how they portrayed Riley's emotions and how anxiety eventually learned to just let things be! It related with me a lot and it was so hard to remain composed in the theater! I'm also glad they didn't include Riley falling love with a girl like people wanted to happen. It was so refreshing not having such a thing shoved down my throat again. It is true that teenage girls especially experience envy over other girls they seem as 'cool' and it's not romantic at all! I loved how they explored the troubles of growing up and wanting to meet new people in high school while also wanting to maintain friendships and relationships with people from middle school. It is just a relief! It was so relatable to me as a girl! It was amazing!

I just finished watching it and it was amazing! Everyone acted so well, and it was done very considerately! I almost cried at the end! I like how they also put elements of problems people with intellectual disabilities face in the movie too!

This was an amazing movie! It’s awful how people can be so cruel to someone for how they identify. She’s done so much for the black community, her kids and more. Whether you accept her identity or not, it’s no excuse to give her so much hate and venom. Being black doesn’t mean you’ve gone through a lot of negative experiences. Race is a social construct and is something you can self identify with as long as you accept those struggles of that race. People are so quick to point fingers and spew hatred that they refuse to care about others stories. I dislike the film putting a lot of emphasis on the hate and not going too deep into Rachel’s story, but this is an amazing film besides that. She’s very passionate and a very strong woman to overcome all of what she’s been through. And she’s still going strong till this day. I hope people can be more open and accepting towards others someday. We need to love each other.

I don’t necessarily dislike the acting, but theres some messages that aren't the best. I stopped watching like 20 minutes in primarily because of the songs so far. I wish they stuck more with the more 'original' version of the story and went into more emotions that the 'original' Matilda felt! It would be a nice touch! They skipped over many parts of the original story as well. It’s all too fast paced. And it’s so different from other stories too. I can see why others like it, but its not for me definitely!

I rate it a 4/5 primarily because it was actually enjoyable and just a fun little movie that you can just watch. Megan is a cool doll and an amazing concept, but I do wish there was more to her and we got to know what caused her to start being able to go against her program, and just start not being a machine. I wish we got more of Megan’s story per se. I like how it also tackled children and how trauma can cause them to act out in many ways and become attached to objects at times like dolls like Megan. It was good for Cady to learn that it’s okay to feel upset and angry because her parents died. The character of Gemma was also well done. She’s just someone who’s never had to raise a child before, and of course she was confused in all areas, but she was genuinely enjoyable as a character and the perfect level to me of unlikeable at times and lovable at other times. The acting was also really good but there were some weak moments primarily with the boss of the company who I forgot the name of. It was bittersweet honestly, and that’s not exactly what I expected but it was definitely not bad in a sense and had a lot of strong points.
