I think this series is terrible and does no justice for Vampire Diaries or the Originals. Monsters and folklore? Really? That just made this show pathetic, it’s like the focus isn’t even on vampires, witches and werewolves anymore. I also don’t like how Hope still has many family members alive, but we don’t see any of them in the series. They portray her as if she’s an orphan with absolutely no one and no where to go. She has Kol and Davina..Freya and Keelin...Rebekah and Marcel...we should have had closure with all of them in some way. Although I cried with Klaus and Elijah (and Hayley) all dying in the last season of the Originals, I felt that they did well with how they had them die and so on. Klaus sacrifices himself for Hope, Elijah dies by his side because he believes Klaus is redeemed. And they show Hayley is at peace with Jackson, her parents, etc. Now, it would be great to know if Klaus and Elijah are at peace, (although Necromancer did say to Hope that Klaus watched over her but won’t be at peace until she is) but overall I’m content with how their deaths played out. Bottom line is I think the Malivore storyline and monsters are overrated and that there is not enough integration of VD and Originals characters. I’m honestly appalled that the reviews for this series are so high.
