First off let me start by saying with the film called "Little Italy" you would think it would only be set in the REAL Little Italy - New York! Who makes a movie with that title based on Little Italy Canada? No one in their right mind thinks of Little Italy Canada! I think if they had done it correctly, some of what people are complaining about the stereotypes could feel a lot more authentic because even though we're in 2024, New York Italian people have not changed. Now regarding the stereotypes, it did feel a little forced. The grandmother, who we famously know from My Big Fat Greek Wedding, sounded like she was just reprising the same role. And let's talk about the Indian people and the gay people, and the black security guard (who was funny) in the film. I mean it just felt like they had to try to be culturally I don't know what. But these characters didn't develop enough for you to buy into anything there. And whats up with the gay chinese dude pretending he's Italian? I mean this is just today's culture- you can be whatever you want to be even though it's not really who you are. If you think you're a tree, then be a tree. If you think you're a man in a woman's body, than be a man in a woman's body, and I guess if you're Chinese and you want to change your name and act Italian, and think you're Italian- then you're Italian. Maybe we need to teach people to just accept who they really are, and not who they feel or think they are. On the plot, it was just okay. I mean who would get so sidetracked from a great opportunity in London over a pizza war. I mean they really didn't make the story anything to bite into as far as why she would stay there and totally forget about the opportunity she has waiting in London. And the family fought over the pizza name? Come on, give us some depth here. At the end of the day the film didn't feel authentic or the storyline something you could bite into. It wasn't bad it wasn't great
