The gameplay isn't terrible and there are some story elements to it that aren't terrible either. Most of the game has the enforced morality of a 5 y.o. who's very convinced he's right. There is only an illusion of choice as everything in the game pushes you towards one thread and there is a total lack of diversity in companions.
The saving grace of this game are the science weapons and the way you progress companion stories.
I say this after 2 playthroughs and almost 60 hours in what is a fairly short game
