I am a Downton Abbey fan and love Gosford Park, so really looked forward to another Julian Fellowes series, but was utterly disappointed. The acting seemed to be straight off Broadway, stilted and maybe proper for stage acting, but film acting is totally different and has to be natural, not postured. The characters are shallow even for upper crust people. The plot line of the Russel's vendetta against the old New York divas seemed trivial and petty and was not fully developed. Finally, some of the clothes, especially Mrs. Russell's, are garish and inauthentic.
