One of the best games I’ve ever played. Criminally underrated revival to a once beloved franchise. My favorite combat and traversal mechanics in any game. The level design, platforming puzzles, and boss fights are all top notch, and it innovates on the Metroidvania genre in some amazing ways. Hopefully it inspires other developers or even gets a sequel. Would love to see this team get to take another crack at it.

Retconning not only TLJ, but also Return of the Jedi as well, The Rise of Skywalker bites off way more than it can chew, and delivers a shallow experience without much to say. A fun watch, but leaves many fan favorite characters by the wayside to tell a story reinforcing the worst part of the Star Wars Universe; the power of dynasty and the importance of genetics. Gone are the days of characters being strong on their own merits, or being able to shape their own destiny. The Force has never been more prescriptive than it is here.
