I am deeply in love with this book. I got it yesterday and finished it in less than 10 hours. The plot moved me in a way that very few books have. Jasmine is someone I can really relate to. I used to be a big girl and I'm black. She brought out all the racist stereotypes that I've heard of. She also brought out the struggles with having friends and finding love. Which was also a struggle for me as well. I loved the book and I've been hoping for a sequel ever since I finished it.
I also really appreciate the authors for making a story that will stick with people. They really brought home the major issues in the world we live in today. Feminism, Racism, along with the stereotyping and the belief that people should stick to the status quo are all underlying issues in most of the worlds major problems. Being a Jehovah's Witness I am taught from the Bible to be impartial. So I believe, just as this book states, that people should not be judged on their race or stereotyped in any way shape or form.
This is a big issue. And I am so glad that there is a book that underlined it and put it in bold. I hope that there will be a sequel and I hope that more people will get to read it. Cause take it from a girl couldn't put the book down, I really is a great book.
